REPORT AN INJURED OR SICK STREET DOG

Use this form only for dogs that are injured, sick, or in immediate danger.

STOP — Please read before reporting a dog

Seeing healthy street dogs or puppies in Lombok is normal.

Thousands of street dogs live in Lombok, and many puppies are born every week.

Street dogs in Lombok live in territories and usually survive by staying in familiar areas.

Our team cannot rescue healthy dogs or puppies.

We only respond to medical emergencies.

With the exception of vulnerable dogs (paralysed, disabled etc) patients will be returned to their found location after treatment and neutering.

Report only if the dog is:

  • Seriously injured

  • Very sick

  • Hit by a vehicle

  • Trapped or in immediate danger

Do NOT report if the dog is:

  • A healthy street dog

  • A healthy puppy

  • A mother with puppies

  • A dog simply living on the street

If the dog is healthy, please do not submit a report.

Our team focuses on medical emergencies and sterilisation programs.

Before Reporting, Ask Yourself

  1. Is the dog suffering from sickness or injury?

  2. Is the dog a street dog?

If the answer to these questions is NO, please do NOT submit a report.

Healthy street dogs survive by living in their territory.

Found Street Puppies?

Many people think they have found a special situation, but this is extremely common in Lombok.

There are thousands of street dogs, and many puppies are born every week. Most are not abandoned. Their mother is usually nearby and caring for them.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for any rescue to take them all in.

Taking puppies away usually makes their survival worse, not better.

The best long-term solution is sterilisation programs, which our team focuses on.

Please do not report healthy puppies.

Do

  • Leave the puppies where they are (The mother is usually nearby)

  • If they are in the road, move them to the side

  • Leave food and water

  • Visit them regularly during your stay

  • If there is a medical concern such as a large wound or injury, report to us via the medical report form. Stay with the puppy until the team can arrive OR leave them where you found them. Our team will attend as soon as possible.

  • Alert us to add the area to the list of locations needing sterilisation. We can also add them to the street feeding route.

What You Should Do Instead

Don't

  • Do Not Take Street Puppies To Your Accommodation

Please do not take street puppies to your hotel, hostel, Airbnb, or homestay.

While this may seem like the kind thing to do, it often puts the puppies in serious danger. Dogs are not widely accepted around many businesses in Lombok, and unwanted puppies left behind after tourists leave are frequently removed, poisoned, or killed.

  • Do Not Move Them To A New Location.

The safest place for street puppies is usually where they were found, where their mother and familiar surroundings are. The mother likely chose the area because she felt safe, or was close to a known food source.

If you have moved a street puppy from where you found it, you should return it immediately.

Attitudes toward street dogs in Lombok are very different from many Western countries, and dogs are often seen as pests rather than pets.

The Reality

We receive many puppy reports every day, and unfortunately it is impossible to rescue them all.

If we took every puppy reported to us, we would quickly run out of funds and be unable to help dogs with serious injuries or illness.

Our resources must go toward:

• Emergency medical care
• Sterilisation programs

The Facts:

  • Thousands of Street Dogs live in Lombok

  • Many puppies are born every week

  • Rescue resources are extremely limited

If we tried to rescue every puppy reported to us, we would quickly run out of funds and injured dogs would die without treatment.

If you take a puppy off the street, we will simply ask you to put them back where you found them.

Our resources must go to:

  • Emergency medical care

  • Spay & neuter programs

What If Puppies Are Found Tied In A Rice Bag Or Dumped In A Box?

This is unfortunately very common. If you find yourself in this situation we would advise one of the following:

1. Move them to a safe location that you already know of where you, or someone you know, already street feeds.

2. Alert us via email and our team will find a suitable spot to move them to on our volunteer feeding route.

Provide the exact Google Maps location, a rough age, and ideally send us photos.

You must not take them home with you.

Reporting an Injured or Sick Dog

  1. Take photos and videos of the injury or concern.

  2. Provide the exact Google Maps location.

  3. Fill in the report form with all relevant information and upload the photos / videos.

Your report helps us investigate and assist dogs in need.

Our team will review reports and contact you if more information is needed.

Even if you are unable to get photos or videos, please still proceed with the report.

Please note:

  • We can not take in healthy puppies

  • Our rescue team is based in South Lombok

  • We cannot guarantee immediate rescue

  • We prioritise emergency cases

  • We cannot keep everyone up to date on every rescue.

Please only submit a report if the dog is injured, sick, or in need of medical attention.

False reports delay our ability to respond to real emergencies.

DO NOT REPORT:

  • Healthy puppies

  • Healthy street dogs

  • Dogs that simply live on the street

Submitting these reports delays emergency treatment for injured dogs.
